Elevating Studio will create multiple vertical transportation options and evaluate them together with our client, based on budget and required performance.
At the end of the concept and schematic design phase, Elevating Studio will provide a ‘Schematic Design Report’, which clarifies the options, recommendations and budget estimates for the client’s selection.
Traffic simulation and analysis are essential to help plan and decide on the lifting strategy during initial design stage. The simulation will allow the client and other relevant parties to understand the performance of the intended vertical transportation system. Our lift performance analysis measures KPIs suchlike average waiting time, distribution of waits, time to destination and car fill rates. We use the latest and most sophisticated traffic simulation software, including software developed in-house.
After selecting the most suitable option from the concept and schematic design, Elevating Studio will then create detailed layouts of the equipment and machine rooms.
Elevating Studio has extensive knowledge on how to accelerate the construction phase, especially for tall buildings and will propose customization and create system layouts for these special configurations. We will also provide an estimate to the additional costs relative to these special solutions. For example, there are several solutions available in the market, which are specifically designed to target accelerated construction of the building. These ‘construction time use’ solutions for elevators, may help the client to reduce the overall project lead time, and can significantly improve returns on investment. These solutions should be planned early for optimum impact and are therefore a very important part of the Detailed Design.
At the end of the detailed design phase, Elevating Studio will prepare a ‘Detailed Design Report’ which clarifies the decisions taken on the vertical transportation design, the schematic drawings, the construction time use solutions, lay-out schemes, etc.
The Elevating Studio team has an extensive code experience, and knows the performance standards, and products needed in different countries, which is an important asset when providing specifications.
Elevating Studio produces comprehensive independent tendering specifications for use in bidding. Our specifications are generic and performance-based to guarantee competitive bids with fewer specification deviations. Apple to apple comparisons will therefore be easier in the bid evaluation phase. Where critical for quality, we will use prescriptive clauses and specifications, for certain specific components.
Elevating Studio encourages lift vendors to submit their value-adding proposals which can reduce project or life cycle costs, or which can speed up the project completion. Vendors may be able to provide propriety solutions which can benefit the project extensively.
Elevating Studio attends bid interviews and prepare list of clarifications for each to ensure full compliance to specifications – or better. After the interview, Elevating Studio will provide the final evaluation and recommendations.
Elevating Studio will review shop drawings and other submittals from the awarded lift vendor for general compliance with the contract documents and code requirements. Review all project plans (risk plan, resource plan, risk-assessment and risk analysis, logistics plan and communication plan). Ensure approval of relevant authorities obtained as well as Professional Engineer endorsement.
Where the supplied information does not comply with the requirements, we will snag the information until all design is in accordance with the project expectations. Proper planning would mitigate many project risks on modernization delays.
Installation inspections are conducted during the construction phase of the project. Inspections will greatly support in management and quality control of the project. Core activities of installation inspection include but are not limited to:
- Quality verification
- Work accuracy
- Safe work environment
